I have to admit that although i wasn't excited about the cast beforehand, during the movie, they all seem to grow on you, except that is for the main character. Kristen's performace simply didn't provide the same awkward likeableness of the book's Bella. Furthermore the movie didn't come anywhere close to providing the emotional angst and drama in the book and therefore it just made the movie seem a bit rushed, a bit choppy, and definitely lacking of intensity. Overall, the movie was likeable but I surely wouldn't be seeing the second one if I didn't love the books so much nd continue to have high hopes that with a new director and BETTER screenplay, hollywood can somehow do these entertaining books justice.

The vampires were pale and bloodless - anaemic in every sense of the word and it really is a rather shameless bit of teen-girl wish-fulfillment fantasy but I still found it watchable and quite entertaining. The beautiful cinematography and Carter Burwell's subtle score were bonuses too.

I just finished the book, so naturally I wanted to see the film afterward. It wasn't bad, but next to the book it seems oversimplified and rushed. I don't see how a viewer of the film alone could become invested in the characters without having read the book. Maybe I should consider the movie a nice supplemental piece. In fairness though, the film was very faithful to the novel and was nicely cast. The cinematography is also exactly as I had imagined.

A superficial film of teen angst built upon clunky dialogue and shaky scene progression - Twilight is a film that initially feels like a production better left as an idea than a filmed entity. It's first half is awkward and moves no where through the following of the almost depressive lead character. But at the core of Twilight is its heart and the connection between its two leads, and once this romance begins to blossom the film manages to swing into a comfortable progression. Hardwicke's feminine touches are noticeable throughout the film - much focus and due attention is given to the connection of love, and it works well. The chemistry of the on-screen pair is sizzling, and it is this injection of modern romanticism that is a great thing to see. While the film takes a long while to hit its strides, and while its script foundations are dimmed, its emotion and escapism makes up for its lacklustre qualities.

Whats starts out very promising turns very sour and boring towards the end of this, is it a horror or teen flick or chick flick? The vampires in question are to embassering and to gay looking to be taking seriously and the baseball sence in general looks so cheesey thats you think your watching a STV movie.Anyway i was very disappointed and this is very much a chick flick with a vampire overton.

it was irritating to see so much fuss over a teen film and it almost made me wish not to watch it..still curiosity was harder and..i enjoyed it from the beginning till the end, maybe the perfomances were weak at some points but in general they were amazing

okay, so I was not impressed with the movie at all. The book was amazing though. Stephanie did a great job.
The movie was absolutely horrible, I'm afraid.
It started with the director, led to the special effects, and ending with the casting. I wasn't happy with Kristen Stewart's performance, mainly because I've seen other things she's been in and she was descent. I just don't thing she did justice to this role. Robert Patterson gives me the same vibe and, well, none of the Cullens really fit my description of a vampire.
All in all, the movie did not deserve the two thumbs up the I was prepared to give it. I hope New Moon is better.

Twilight was ne of the best movies that I have ever seen and I ABSOULTY LOVED it!! Rob Pattison was a perfect Edward. Peter Facinelli was a HOT Carlisle. And Jasper was cast perfectly! I totally want to see it again!! I read Twilight in about 2 weeks and it was the fastest book I have ever read! I just couldn't put it down! A tip about the movie.... Read the book first! Some parts of the movie can get confusing if you didn't read it first! They also left out some key details but not many!!! My cousin read all 4 books in about a month! My sister read them all in about 5 weeks! I absoulty recomed this book to every one and the movie too! Some parts are a little scary for younger kids but very few.

I think it comes out on dvd this Summer. It's way too long to wait!! :| I'm getting really tired of reading all the negative comments and hearing people saying "It wasn't at all like the books!!" It's a movie adaption. It's not going to cateer to your beliefs!! It's based on a book and Catherine wasn't going to make the Cullens more "vampy" for just sheer entertainment. And no one guaranteed it was going to be just like the book! I'm pretty sure people who haven't read the book won't want to be in a movie theater for six straight hours just sitting on there asses [while watching an amazing movie] and Summit didn't have $100 million for Twilight!! I'll admit, running up the hill was a cheesy special effect, but that's it!! I'm sure no die-hard twilight fan wants to hear that other people hated what they loved. So, I'm asking all you unimpressed critics to shut the hell up. :D

I would NOT see the movie without reading the first 2 books first, so last week I read both the books. I have to say I FELL IN LOVE with the story, Edward & Bella, Jacob, Esme,Rosalie, Charlie, Jasper, Carlisle, Alice, Emmet, Ect.

In the book I fell in love w/Edwards character. I have a clear picture of his looks & voice so when I saw the movie I had that vision in my head, Rob lived up to it, kinda. I expected the feminine looks but I pictured him slightly different, huskier in body & different somehow. But Rob was darned close to my Edward that I wished exsisted somewhere in this world for me..LOL..

The books kicked ass, plain & simple. The movie simplified the book. It would of been impossible to include all the subtle details & nuances that made the book so special to me. Even the special efx were hard to re create from book to movie. Had they had a bigger budget I bet the special efx would of been better.

I will see # 2 but hope they get more money to work with.
