8-17-08: So far, this is the only movie of the Hellraiser series that I've permanently deleted from my drive after watching the whole series in order.
    ______
The main thing that needs to be said about this movie: don't see it. In this one, Lance Henriksen owns and runs the largest collection of Hellraiser related paraphern, set in a world where "Hellworld" is a massive role-playing game of sorts whose players are suspiciously exclusively hot and not a single person at the party requires eyeglasses or corrective dentistry (there is no such thing as this many hot RPGers, much less all of them being at one place together playing the same game). A group of Hellworld RPGers, bound together by a mutual friend who killed himself for the game, show up at Henriksen's mansion for a massive Hellworld party but soon find themselves getting picked off one by one by Cenobites. These Cenobites can actually walk and move, which is kind of a new thing for them. The Chatterer is back and lookin cool; Pinhead's outfit is losing its appeal tho and this costume emphasizes his nipples, which is weird and doesn't work.
This is a straight forward twenty something trapped in a "haunted" house bent on killing them, except it sucks.

And I'll SPOIL it right now: Lance Henriksen is their friend's dad and he is killing all of them out of revenge, and most of the Hellraiser stuff is them hallucinating after he's drugged the kids with hallucinogens and buried them with breathing pipes and cell phones, mentally torturing them until they die. At the end, the "real" Cenobites show up to collect him when he's fiddling around with his son's Lament Configuration and accidentally solves it.

There's gore galore in this flick, but none of it is inventive or cool to watch. It's just a very "blah" horror attempt, which would be admirable on primetime tv but is just disappointing in fully budgeted feature mode.

Awful entry. Long, talky, and severely lacking in the department of bloody, original kills. Worst of all, there's only about five minutes of Pinhead! As a general rule, if you're going to make a movie that's absolutely nothing but service to Hellraiser fans, put lots of Pinhead in it.

Is there anything scarier than a dude who has nails in his head constantly, but doesnt seem to feel the pain. He's gonna be a mentalist. Hellbound is as scarey if not worst than Hellraiser. Pinhead rules.

Pinhead on the internet is how this movie was initially described to me. As I began to ponder the many ways Pinhead could terrorize on the web, a mental image of what the movie could be emerged. Once I actually popped this flick in though, it wasn't at all what I expected.

The story revolves around a group of friends who all play an online game called Hellworld. By completing its most recent puzzle, they are invited to an exclusive Hellworld party, but the party isn't all that it seems.

So not exactly Pinhead on the internet...but fun nonetheless! Not only do we get Doug Bradley playing our favorite spiked head demon, but Lance Henrikson playing the host of the party. Unfortunately the remaining actors aren't quite as skilled or prestigious but they get things done well enough.

Any fan of the series should enjoy this entry. It's a very fresh take unlike any other in the series, and continues in the tradition of quality that fans come to expect of the Hellraiser series. Don't let Deader discourage you, this series still has a lot of life left in it.

If Pinhead were real, he'd have disposed of the Weinsteins for allowing this sort of thing to happen to the franchise.

I love Clive Barker and his clever story - I see all of the lousy followers, even if it's nowhere near his brilliant Hellraiser.

Damn this movie is so ridiculous that i could not bear to watch the entire flick. A very good example on "how to ruin a perfectly good name and character". Simply dull and boring.

Yea I have two words for you: "Lance Henriksen". Ug. Really, not a great film which is sad because Hellraiser is such a great series of films.

Your suffering will be legendary, even in direct to video sequels! Doug Bradley gets another paycheck as Pinhead in the newest poopfest from Rick Botard, Hellraiser: Hellworld. This time, Rick insults the fans by having a story that acts as if Hellraiser was a movie and all made up. A bunch of cool style kids (punk girl, heroine, jerky guy, hero, and black guy) play a computer game and win a chance to go to a lame as hell (get it????) party run by Lance Henriksen who starts killing the kids off one by one because he blames them for the death of his son who poured gasoline on his body because Rick Botard wanted him to be in a Hellraiser sequel. At first I felt sorry for Lance but then I remembered he was in Mangler 2 so he deserves what he gets. Lance, we loved you in Aliens and Near Dark so stop making direct to video sequels! What's next, Prophecy: Lancelot the Angel or Witchcraft VXIVX: Couldron of Lance? Oh I got one, Children of the Corn 8: Lance's Children! These Hellraiser movies have turned into a Freddy's Nightmares but without Freddy and with Pinhead. Is it real or a dream? Who cares! I asked myself the same question as I was watching this DVD. I would have rather paused it on one of the scenes of nudity, send some knuckle children onto the TV set, and go to bed.

Pretty much cut and dry all around crap. I bought it just to have a full collection of Hellraiser movies.

This is a trip into the mind, that if you're not careful, it'll give you a serious headache. I love the ending. Clive Barker, you're a genius.

See my comment of "Hellraiser: Hellseeker". Oh, and just a fun fact. Ever been to a gamer party? There aren't a bunch of hot 20-somethings dancing and fucking. It's a bunch of pasty-faced nerds with bad B.O.
    Filthy lies.

The film looks good - say what you will about Bota's work as a Director, his time as a Cinematographer was well spent.

The ending, sadly, feels stitched on. It does give an amusing sense of satisfaction to see The Host get his come-uppance but the process does feel rather like an obligation; one last gory death to keep viewer's happy.

Straying miles away from the original Hellraiser concept, the creepy and sadistic gorefest has been turned into a bad, dime a dozen teen slasher. The gore factor has been toned down almost completely and the characters are plain loathsome(you no longer cheer for the rescued ones, only feel disappointed that they stayed alive). The little saving grace this film has are the great visual set up, Lance Henriksen's very creepy character and the iconic Pinhead.

ok things nice to say about this movie. ah.....um....well......has lance and doug in it? um....rick bota who has directed like the last four "who also was a dp in his time most famous for doing house on haunted hill remake" but well....ok lets face it theres not alot of great things to say about this fucker..part 8s of franchies are eather so over the top you love them or so down right badly shit that you rather sit there smelling dog shit...and sadly this one falls down that way with doug just being there seeming "ok....i finished my scenes in three hours..wheres my pay check?" and lance....well as rumors went he is a friend of the director so maybe then....dose it have some decent twists? mmm yeah...is it worth a free watch? well....if you have free time and dont pay even a penny yeah why not...but other then that really eh no reason unless your really thirsty to see a little gore like i always am...
