Born March 22, 1976, Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon has rose to one of the highest paid actresses over the years.

Reese is probably best known for her roles in Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama, and Walk The Line, which she won an Oscar for her role as June Carter Cash.

Reese was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but grew up mostly in Nashville, Tennessee - although she spent a brief time in Wiesbaden, Germany due to her father's job in the military. Her parents are John Witherspoon and Betty Reese. Reese also claims to be a descendant of John Witherspoon, one of the men who signed the declaration of independance, but the information hasn't actually been verified.

Reese married her Cruel Intentions co-star, Ryan Phillipe, in 1999. They've had two children together, Ava and Decon. They divorced in October 2007, and since then, Reese has been romantically linked to fellow actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
